What to pack for a Blue Lagoon boat tour

4 min read

The short version: bring less than you think. The boat is small and there's no luggage storage. Here's what we provide and what to pack.

Traditional Dalmatian wooden boat cruising the Adriatic Sea between Split and the Krknjaši islands
The boat in transit — most of your day is spent on the sun deck or in the shaded cabin.

What we provide on board

  • Snorkeling masks (adult and children's sizes)
  • Towels — one per guest
  • Water and iced tea throughout the day
  • A glass of wine or beer with lunch
  • Hot lunch (grilled chicken, grilled fish, or pasta milanese — choose at booking)
  • Sun deck and shaded cabin areas
  • Marine-grade life jackets

Additional drinks (soft drinks, extra wine or beer) are available for purchase on board.

What you should bring

  • Swimsuit — wear it under your clothes; we have a small changing area but it's faster to just be ready.
  • Reef-safe sunscreen, SPF 30+. The Adriatic sun reflects off the water and burns fast. Two layers minimum.
  • Hat — preferably one with a chin strap. Wind on deck is real.
  • Sunglasses — polarized makes a noticeable difference looking at the seabed.
  • Light jacket or hoodie for the return ride. Sea breeze cools you down once the sun starts dropping.
  • Phone in a waterproof pouch if you want to take photos in/near the water. €5 on Amazon, saves a phone.
  • Cash or card for tips/drinks at Nečujam if you want to visit the small village.

What people forget (and regret)

  • Water shoes — the rocky shoreline at Nečujam is sharper than it looks. Optional but appreciated.
  • Anti-nausea pills if you're sensitive to motion. The crossing to Šolta can have small chop. Most pharmacies in Croatia sell Dramina over the counter.
  • A book. There's downtime between swims. You'll be glad to have one.

What NOT to bring

  • Glass bottles — please use cans or plastic for safety on deck.
  • Drone — both Blue Lagoon and Nečujam are within Croatian National Park airspace restrictions; you need a permit.
  • Large hard suitcases — there's no storage for them on board.
