Party boats vs our traditional boat

Blue Lagoon party boat from Split — or a traditional boat that knows how to play music?

Hardcore booze cruises are one thing. A traditional Dalmatian boat with a sound system, cold drinks, and a captain who does not mind a good song when the group is up for it is another. Here is what each actually feels like.

What we actually run

We are not a hardcore party boat. There is no DJ booth, no shot girls, no foam cannon. What we do run is a 20-metre traditional wooden Dalmatian boat — originally a working commercial fishing boat that we converted for tours — with a sound system, a cooler stocked with cold drinks, and a captain who has been doing this long enough to read the group. When the energy is up, we are not the boat that tells you to keep it down. When it is a family with kids, we read that too.

Most tours land somewhere in the middle: morning is mellow with the sea and the coffee, by lunchtime there is music, and by the afternoon swim stop people are dancing on the deck if that is the group. We do not push it either way — we let the day take its shape.

What a real "party boat" looks like in Split

The actual Split party-boat scene runs roughly like this: a 20–60-person speedboat or catamaran, DJ on the upper deck, open bar (usually cheap house spirits), one quick swim stop at the Blue Lagoon as a photo break, then back to Split. Prices are €60–€100/person, and the marketing is heavy on "boozecruise", "all-inclusive drinks", "party hard".

If that is genuinely the day you want — relentless music, drinking as the main activity, the Blue Lagoon as a backdrop rather than the point — book one of those. Search for "Split party boat" on GetYourGuide. There are several legitimate operators.

Where our boat works for "party-curious" travellers

  • Music is on, your playlist is welcome. Bluetooth speaker, connect your phone, pick the vibe. We have heard everything from Croatian klapa to Berlin techno on the same boat in the same week.
  • Drinks throughout the day. Water and iced tea are included all day. A glass of wine or beer comes with lunch. Additional cold beer, wine, and soft drinks are sold on board. Bring your own bottle of rakija if you want to start a round.
  • Bachelor / hen / friend-group bookings. Book the whole boat (private charter) and the day is yours. Up to 80 guests, no schedule pressure, music as loud as the group wants it.
  • A real swim day. Unlike a booze cruise where the Blue Lagoon is a 15-minute photo stop, our boat anchors for an hour at the Lagoon and another at Nečujam. You actually swim, snorkel, dive off the side.
  • You finish in Split before dinner. Tours return 17:00–18:00, so you can shower, eat, and walk straight into Split's evening scene. A late-night party boat leaves you wrecked the next morning.

Where we are not the right choice

  • You want an open bar all day. Drinks are sold individually on our boat, not all-inclusive. If "unlimited drinks" is the deal-maker, book a dedicated party boat.
  • You want a DJ + dance floor as the main event. We have a speaker and a deck, not a sound rig. The vibe lifts the music, not the other way around.
  • You are mixed with strangers and want guaranteed party energy. Group tours mix everyone — some days are families and couples, some are friend groups, some are mixed. If you need a guaranteed party crowd, book a private charter or pick a dedicated party operator.

The honest summary

Our boat is not anti-party. It is the "light-party with good company" option — music, drinks, swimming, and an afternoon on the water with whatever energy the group brings. If that sounds like more your day than a 60-person booze cruise stopping at the Lagoon for 15 minutes, here is the booking link.
